Happy Summer – C U in Sept.

Now that we’re all done with our project year, Club members are back in their gardens, weather permitting, pruning and tilling and getting ready for more fun.

Our upcoming programs promise to be interesting and fun as well. When we are ready to show off our bountiful harvest, there is the September show that is open to all. We feature many locally grown fruits and vegetables as well as flowers – click on our show schedule when it’s ready to check the entry list. Good luck to all.

We also have a great design exhibit at this time. Come check out what we have created with our bountiful imaginations.

The rest of our year features many unique talks and workshops. As we develop our schedule, the meeting details will be posted on this website as well as information about our speakers.

We hope also to continue to add information about environmental concerns. These include protecting our pollinators, replanting native species in our gardens, community beautification and children’s’ programs. Many of our members are Monmouth County Master Gardeners and many are beginners. Surely there is something for everybody.

All of our members are waiting to meet you. Our meetings are free and open to the public. We are a friendly group and we hope you feel the same.

Our First Meeting a gReat Success!

Hop on over to our Gallery and have a feast for the eyes. Our members outdid themselves, once again, with design and horticultural feats. ngc-going-platinum-hort-show-9-16-192-of-201We can be very proud of ourselves in our achievements, and the ribbons were well-deserved.

Our start of the season show is a way for many of us to show off our efforts from the previous summer with vegetables, fruits and flowers. It also highlights the creative offerings as you can see from the pieces shown in the gallery.

Please feel free to visit us at one of our regular meetings. You will be welcomed and also encouraged to develop your knowledge and abilities. Come see us and learn how you can create wonderful designs and work with us in the community and with each other.

See you in October!

Our First Meeting is almost Here

Members of the Navesink Garden Club are busy, as we speak, setting up some preliminaries at the Atrium, where our first meeting and annual horticultural and design competition will be held. It will be tomorrow, 9/13, and the public is invited from 1-3 PM to view our results.

We promise a good view of local fruits, vegetables and even designs, created or grown by members in their own gardens. Our rules follow the Handbook for Flower Shows so are judged on standard criteria.

If you are intimidated by the ideas of designing something or growing a garden, don’t hesitate to visit us. You will realize that we are just like anyone else. We all started somewhere. Even if it was with a small hand trowel and a bucket of potting soil.

See you tomorrow at the Atrium!
