Caren is a Master Gardener and a member of the Herb Society of America. She is a longtime volunteer at Rutgers Gardens, where she is the Garden Steward for the Herb garden, with extensive knowledge of herbs, culinary and medicinal.

A Master Gardener with extensive experience in horticulture, Janet was the Director of District 1, New Jersey Garden Club (GCNJ) from 2009-2011; President, Wyckoff Area Garden Club in 2007-2009 and 2011-2013. This program touches upon different aspects of gardening. There will also be a little about Hypertufa Troughs.

Decorating with Succulents

Leslie comes to us from Leslie Dempsey Home Plant Care, with over 20 years of experience in garden maintenance. She has attended and participated in Rutgers 4H and extension courses, classes, and seminars. She has spoken to us in the past on “Indoor Garden Care.”

Art in Bloom – in Paris

Using various works of art, our designers will create a floral design that reflects their creative interpretation of the piece.

This year we intend to not only present our designs based on artists’ paintings, but we are going to attempt an online event as well. Please stay tuned as we learn “as we go” and catch up to the digital age in our own way. That is, through design and horticulture.

Going Native – a Guide to Landscaping with Native Plants

Barnegat Bay Partnership

Mary is Program Assistant, Barnegat Bay Partnership, and Co-Leader of the Jersey Shore Native Plant Society (NSNPS), which provides post-Hurricane Sandy resource information. Kim is a native plant enthusiast and also a member of the JSNPAS. She holds a Landscape Design Certificate from Rutgers U. and also a degree in Horticulture.

Native Plant Society of New JerseyIf you can attend, this may be one of the most interesting and exciting talks of our season. Some of us have seen this team already, in another venue, and can vouch that it is not only of interest to us as gardeners, but vital that we understand the work that goes on by these agencies. We hope to see you there.
