Navesink Garden Club Objectives

The Navesink garden Club provides its members with the knowledge, resources, and opportunities to promote a love of gardening, an appreciation of floral design, dedication to environmental protection, and a commitment to civic responsibility. These objectives are achieved through youth garden programs, community beautification projects, horticulture and design programs for seniors, an annual flower show, and an annual scholarship award. The Navesink Garden Club supports the objectives of National Garden Clubs, Inc., Central Atlantic Region; and Garden Club of New Jersey, Inc. (These links will take you outside of this website.)

What we do:

  • Support objectives of National Garden Clubs, Inc.; and Central Atlantic Region (CAR), and The Garden Club of New Jersey, Inc. (GCNJ).
  • Award gift scholarships.
  • Promote social interaction with residents at The Atrium.
  • Continue broad-­based Youth Gardening programs.
  • Involve members in horticulture and floral design events in accordance with “Handbook for Flower Shows” rules.
  • Promote use of native plants and organic gardening.
  • Continue community beautification projects.
  • Protect and conserve natural resources, including birds and wildlife.
  • Encourage reduction of pesticides in the environment.
  • Encourage members to be conscious stewards of the earth.

National Garden Clubs, Inc. provides education, resources, and national networking opportunities for its members to promote the love of gardening, floral design, and civic and environmental responsibility.

Service in Action project

President Sandy Robinson’s 2015-2017 special two-year project “Service in Action” has been instituted to help reverse population declines in pollinator and amphibian species – frogs, bees, Monarch butterflies among others. This project is set to guide our resources, and have message and action plans Click to learn more.

Our National Garden Club has much information and resources. You can become involved by joining a committee or supporting a program.
