NAVESINK GARDEN CLUB TO HOLD SMALL STANDARD FLOWER SHOW
The Navesink Garden Club is staging a small standard flower show titled “Holiday Blooms” on September 10 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. The show will be held at The Atrium at Navesink Harbor located at 40 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, and is open to the public free of charge.
This club has held a horticulture show every year since its inception in 1947. This year’s venue will encompass both horticulture and design divisions. In the Horticulture Division members will enter and display their best examples of fruits, vegetables, herbs, flowers and plants grown in their gardens over the summer. In addition, there will be sections devoted to container-grown plants and combination plantings. Exhibits will be eligible for Awards of Merit, Arboreal Award and the Grower’s Choice Award. An abundant and colorful exhibit in the past, it promises to be an exciting one this year with holiday titles such as “Fourth of July,” “Midsummer’s Eve,” “Valentine’s Day,” and many more.
In the Design Division, members are invited to enter a “design of any type” in Classes titled “Happy Thanksgiving,” “Merry Christmas,” and “Happy New Year,” again playing into the theme “Holiday Blooms.” Participants will be eligible for a Designer’s Choice Award.
The Navesink Garden Club invites people interested in horticulture and design to attend one of our meetings, enjoy a warm and friendly welcome and learn about the interesting projects the club engages in. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month at The Atrium at Navesink Harbor, Red Bank, from September to June.
